#TrioThursdays: Splattered

Blame it on my relatively tall stature but I’ve always found maxi skirts easy to wear. For me, it has its advantages like (1) no pressure to wear high heels with them (2) no pressure to check as well if legs are waxed lol.

I've had this splattered skirt from Bugis in Singapore for years now and it's monochromatic pattern never lets me run out of ideas in styling them. You've seen it first fresh in 2014 here and have since then saw a lot of styling here. The skirt also made it to Paris coz I figured the material would do well for the chilly weather. And without any particular theme (aside from the skirt itself), here are the latest three ways I wore 'em for today's hashtag post.

Wedding Season

Wedding season is upon us! Though as observed here in the Philippines that most weddings nowadays already come in December, I still know a couple of friends who will tie the knot this June. If you may still remember this post, I mentioned about this top from Zaful that’s just begging to be worn on a special occasion. So, if I have the time to attend this June, this is how I will wear it - with this maxi skirt of mine that is a certified “suki” outfit for weddings.

I love that this maxi skirt simply delivers in the “pretty and romantic” requirement for a wedding attendee without being OTT (aka upstaging the bride, lol!). It was such a good investment piece as it is pretty versatile too. Check out how I mix-n-matched it for two weddings before here and here. This being a maxi skirt means I can put on a dressy stiletto during the ceremony and change to something comfortable if I wanna boogie on up during the party without being noticed. *wink*

The Wedding Emcee

A wedding that took 9 months to prepare. Wow. Of course I know some other rushed weddings because of unexpected circumstances but this one is different. Having it scheduled on the 24th, I know it was tough but I’m so proud of my friends for pulling it off.  As a close friend helping out on the preps the night before the big day, I felt the stress that I had to joke and tell my friends that nobody should get married next year. Lol!

But my takeaway from the wedding? Seriously. If a guy really wants you, he would really work quickly to secure you. Haha! That’s how my guy friend worked. Lol! The wedding was far from perfect what with some vital parts missing but I felt the intimacy having been a part of the couple’s relationship that only started this year. And the most shocking part was, me emcee-ing the wedding. Yes, that really made it imperfect. Hahaha!!! I got a not bad comment from a friend though. I’m gonna be okay with that. J

Bridesmaids in Coral

Two weeks before my friend's wedding and I can't help but feel excited for it. (Update: Yes, I'm gonna be a part of it!!!) So let's do some more wedding-related stuff here alright? This time though it's not gonna be bridal stuff but rather, the bridesmaids. Yay!

It's going to be a late spring/ summer wedding in Toronto and though I'm not a wedding expert, I think there's no better way to add whimsy to a wedding than dressing up the bridesmaids in pastel colors paired with vibrant hues for this season. :)

I'm not officially part of the entourage too (lol!) so this post is more of my idea of a fun yet sophisticated wedding expressed through the motif. Obviously, I love color-blocking and mix-and-match so much so the gallery below showcases a colorblocking of warm and cool colors in pastel tones that are truly eye-catching and pleasant but using only one coral skirt. #twowaytuesday let us hashtag it this way :P

First combo: mint and coral. Aaah, this is just so refreshing. Like sipping my favorite cocktail mojito on a daytime, haha! Mint has been a popular hue since around 2012 I believe and the trend never really died I suppose. Matter of fact I have this mint pencil skirt that I keep on mixing and matching with different hues and prints at work - which reminds me to put it in queue here. :P

The second one I reckon is not a popular color combo and is just something that occurred to me last Sunday while deciding what to wear. But I think lavender works well with coral too from here. What do you think? And yes, don't be so much shocked with the change. I finally decided to chop chop my hair from that length. Lol! I'll prolly talk more of it in the next posts since I always try to post emo stuff when I make drastic changes to my hair haha. Meanwhile, enjoy the pics below and expect more to come soon. :)
