Tinted

Eclectic. This just happened to be one of my favorite words and one that perfectly describes the style of the 90s.  Trends from the early aughts is so diffused that we see a lot of revival of it today. From Britpops to R&B to grunge - there's a lot of influences to choose from. Of all the resurging 90's styles though (choker, slip dresses, sheer, velvet and many more lol) I'd have to say that this would be my most favorite - the tinted sunnies.

First seen in Johnny Depp's movie in 1998, yellow tinted sunnies are having a moment now. I couldn't stress enough how I'm such a huge fan of using sunnies to complete a look especially I know nothing about eye make-up. 🙈 And these babies look so cool in this color. What I particularly like about this pair is how I can sleep on the way to work with them on. They don't cause fatigue unlike the others I'm using. And as I am researching on the reason behind that, I now learn that different colors for sunnies aren't only for fun but because they serve different purposes. Awesome! Read it here. Lol!

So with the added benefits of eye protection and coolness factor, what's not to love with these yellow aviators? My favorite thing to wear with them? LWDs or little white dresses as you'll see in the gallery below. :)

That Little White Dress

Although a dress that’s always associated with the summer season, this little white dress (LWD) from Zaful is still the perfect way to break the “no white after Labor Day” rule. The high neckline with lace-up details and bodycon silhouette would often suggest that this is the perfect dress for a romantic date night with an S.O but I like to shake things up a bit by wearing it in a sporty way.

For someone who has a penchant for tennis outfits, you can say that I’m always game for an LWD year-round. ;)

If I ever decide to take this dress to a formal evening, I think minimal two-strap sandals would do and pair it with this cute little handbag from Dresslily. What do you think? You will see more of this bag in the blog soon. :)

Shopping at Gamiss

The pineapple fruit, however looking weird they may be, has recently become a blogger’s favorite. From accessories to pool floaties to the actual fruit itself, this tropical fruit has found its way as a perfect prop to their summer getaway photos. You can check mine from our last summer getaway here. :)

So you can just imagine how happy I was to even see the pineapple print itself in this playful little white dress from Gamiss. As we all know, the LWD is the “LBD of summer” so this number couldn’t be more perfect for me. The open upper back that’s tied via ribbon simply looks so refreshing in the summer heat while having that alluring factor in the cut-out detail infront. ;)

It was my first time to shop at this website and I was pleasantly surprised at their trendy collection of dresses at affordable prices. So I couldn’t help check out their tops department as well and bingo! The bell-sleeves trend that I am so willing to test drive is available in this number in lace so it was automatically added to the cart. :P The cropped and see through factor makes this a perfect night-out top so I paired it with the trendy mini buttondown skirt and some sexy stilettos.

The shipment arrived two days after purchase and I love how they perfectly fit my frame. :)

Blank Space

We all love our LBDs (little black dresses) but one thing that is as equally versatile as them is the LWD. Wearing white is always a great way to instantly create a fresh, chic look. And just like their counterpart, a solid white base leaves lots of room to play with. You can contrast it with darker outerwear (think leather jackets) or let it be a stylish backdrop for displaying interesting accessories.

For this unbranded LWD with peplum detail, I simply decided to match it up with a bright color to draw attention to my cobalt lace-up sandals. To stay true to the blue and white combo, I threw on my striped blazer and accessorized it with my flashy lens. For some reason, using it as a blank canvas reminds me of one of the Billboard’s Woman of the Year 2014 song, as the lyric goes…

"but I've got a blank space baby, and I'll write your name"
