Sexy Edge

They say, if you wanted to be sexy in the 90s, you went sheer. Think Kate Moss' iconic metallic sheer slip dress. Not only slip dresses, 90's -inspired sheer black top (and boydsuit) are also back. You can also see the bodysuit worn as swimsuit here. Styled over a bra or camisole and it can be daring although, there are also many ways to wear it demure as seen layered in this season's styles. But to be honest, the bff and I really bought together this sheer top for dancing purposes. And this is how I wore it below for a dance performance in our company's year-end party.

Another 90s trend in here that's been popping up on the legs of fashion bloggers lately? The fishnet tights. Sure, they won't exactly keep you warm as tights for this winter season but they certainly add a little something extra when styled under ripped jeans. Styled with thigh-high boots below, fishnets add a little texture. Combined with sheer and denim (and a moto jacket that was removed at the beginning of the dance number, haha!) altogether and they add the right amount of playful edge to your outfit. ðŸ‘¯ðŸ‘¯ðŸ‘¯

Boot Up!

With a change of season comes not only an additional pile of clothing for warmth but also an update of your shoe game! That’s right, ladies! Boot up! Haha! Harper’s Bazaar has spoken – these are the five boots every woman should own. Check out how I style ‘em up in the past. ;-)

1.       Sleek pointy bootie. Preferably, a black one with slim heel and pointy toe. Totally meant to replace the pumps in the colder weather. The magazine calls it further – the thinking lady’s boot. ;) This is me using it as an airport look going to Taipei early this year. Proud to say that this is also a Topshop approved look. :)

2.       Chunky ankle bootie. Something in a neutral hue with a chunky heel that’s made for walking with the benefit of an added height. Just a li’l background info, I got this pair from Kuala Lumpur and took me three years before I wore it. Oh please just don’t ask why.

Top/ Pants: Mango; Buttondown: Topman; Shoes: Vincci

3.       Moto boots. Your all-year round boots for that edgy MOD look! Definitely should be black with the right buckles or hardware. Sigh, I need to upgrade this current pair I have to something edgier.

4.       Boho boots. I’ve always liked this in something tan/ a suede material and low-heeled ones for this but at the same time fancies something cowgirl-like in leather. Pair it with your fringes, tunic, denim cut-offs, bridal gown (yes, they do it!) – the possibilities are endless. :)

5.       Tall boots. Of course I did mention needing your rain-boots as mentioned here. (Wellies much preferred). But I wear them knee-highs too for rainy or windy days (basically, any chance I could wear ‘em) because I just soooo love the slimming effect. Check out also the flat version of my thigh highs worn in Taipei here.

Them Thigh Highs

Late news but as a style/fashion blogger I feel a bit compelled to write something about this fashion giant and its recent opening in our country (their 55th!) – H&M.

I had my first experience about 5 years ago. I was in HK and much eager to see this retail brand that one of my favorite lifestyle bloggers is raving about. It was January, end of season sale and let’s just say it didn’t take minutes for me to love the shop upon entering. Lol! My very first treasured purchase is a pair of snakeskin cutout booties for just 100 HKD. I call them my “hooker shoes” and I wore ‘em to an event here.

I had my hesitations when this Swedish company announced their opening here. H&M visit is always a highlight of my travel abroad (lol!). I cherish those spring in my steps when I finally reach a mall that has their store. And them opening a branch in the mall where I go to during weekends would only mean bankruptcy for me. Lol.

But I guess all that changed when I found these thigh highs in the shop last month. I’ve been ogling these babies since late of 2013 and could only ooh and aah over the style mavens wearing them. As a shoelover, I was completely hopeless that I’d find anything like this here in our country but there they were displayed in my size at H&M Makati. Yay! What can I say? It was definitely meant to be. Lol.

I’ve worn it a couple of times and even performed a Latin track in them. Oh my. Click here. Dress over pants trend is the new louche layering for 2015 and this is somehow a preview of that look. Not sure if I’ll completely try it though. We’ll see.
